A queen, a guard and a deadly rule
The rule in this kingdom is simple: lay a hand on the queen and you die for it. She gives the post outside her bedchamber to the lowest-born guard in the castle, and night after night she tempts him to break that rule. In the official premise she has all the power and he carries all the risk.

Episode 1 runs 58 seconds. At about 0:30 the queen rests against the stone wall at the entrance to her room, arms crossed, the canopy bed visible behind her. Around 0:40 she speaks to the guard in the hall and he does not move or answer, which shows exactly what he is up against. Everyone stays in costume for the whole episode.
